Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-06-03

1. Acceptance of these terms

By using PDF2atom ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms apply to anyone accessing or using the Service, with or without an account.

2. The Service

PDF2atom provides free, browser-based PDF tools. All processing of your files happens locally in your web browser using JavaScript libraries. We do not upload, store, or process your files on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.

The Service is offered free of charge, without account signup, and without usage limits — though browser memory and your device's performance are practical limits we do not control.

3. Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the files you process. Do not use the Service to process files you do not have a legal right to handle.
  • You agree not to use the Service to process content that is illegal, infringing, or that you do not have permission to modify.
  • You agree not to attempt to use the Service to bypass copyright protection, digital rights management (DRM), or unauthorized access controls.
  • You are responsible for keeping backup copies of any important files. Browser-based processing can fail (out of memory, network interruption, browser crash) and we provide no recovery mechanism — we have no copy of your file.

4. Service "as is" — no warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
  • Results obtained from the Service (e.g., a merged or converted file) will be accurate, reliable, or fit for any particular purpose.
  • The Service will work on every browser, device, or operating system.
  • Files processed will be free of defects, formatting changes, or rendering issues compared to the original.

For documents where correctness is critical (legal filings, medical records, financial submissions), always verify the output manually before submitting.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDF2atom and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, lost profits, or business interruption — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. This applies even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Because the Service runs in your browser and we never receive your files, we have no ability to recover lost or corrupted files. Always keep backups.

6. Third-party services and links

The site may link to third-party websites (Google AdSense ads, Google Analytics, our privacy policy references, etc.). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those third parties. Your interaction with them is governed by their own terms and policies.

7. Advertising

We may display advertisements (provided by Google AdSense and similar networks) on the site to fund the free Service after the required approval and consent setup is ready. Ads are placed in fixed slots and do not interact with the in-browser PDF processing. We do not control or endorse the content of ads. If you encounter a misleading or inappropriate ad, please report it via the Contact page.

8. Intellectual property

The PDF2atom website, including its design, text content (excluding your files), graphics, and code, is owned by us and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works of the site itself without permission.

Your files remain your property. Because we never receive them, we make no claim of any kind to your file content.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the Service.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service in ways that interfere with normal operation.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code in a way that violates applicable law.
  • Use the Service for illegal activity.

10. Changes to the Service

We may add, modify, or remove tools at any time. We may change ad placements, add new legal requirements (such as consent banners), or update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the Service operator is located. Any dispute arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by law.
