Automatically remove blank pages from a PDF
Scanned documents, merged PDFs, and exported reports often contain blank pages. This tool scans every page, detects blank or near-blank pages, and removes them in one click. All scanning and processing happens in your browser.
How it works
- Select a PDF — it stays on your device.
- Click Find & Remove Blanks. The tool renders each page and measures content density.
- Download the cleaned PDF with blank pages removed.
What counts as a blank page?
A page is considered blank if more than 99.5% of its pixels are white or near-white. Pages with watermarks, page numbers, or small marks are NOT considered blank and will be kept.
Common uses
- Clean up scanned documents where the scanner inserted blank separator pages.
- Remove empty pages from merged PDFs created from multiple sources.
- Strip blank pages from exported reports or presentations.
Before using the cleaned PDF, compare the final page count with the original. Blank-page detection is intentionally conservative, but very faint scans, lightly stamped pages, or pages with tiny marks may still need manual review. Keep the original file until you are sure no required page was removed.
Privacy and file safety
Your PDF stays in your browser. Page analysis and PDF creation happen locally on your device. PDF2atom does not upload, store, or analyze your document.

Frequently asked questions
Will it remove pages with just a page number?
No. Pages with any non-white content — including page numbers, watermarks, or small marks — are kept.
Are my documents uploaded?
No. Page scanning and PDF creation happen entirely in your browser. PDF2atom never receives your file.
How accurate is the detection?
It is quite accurate for truly blank pages. Near-white pages (very faint scans, watermarks) are kept to avoid data loss.
Can I review which pages were removed?
The summary tells you how many pages were removed. Write down the page count before processing if you want to verify against the result.
