Convert PDF to CSV Online Free
Extract table data from PDF and export as CSV. Select text is parsed and saved as comma-separated values. Processing stays in your browser.
Convert PDF to CSV online
Pull the text out of a PDF and save it as a CSV file you can open straight in Excel or Google Sheets. It reads the selectable text from each page and writes it out in comma-separated form — handy when you need the raw data out of a report rather than a fixed, un-editable document.
How to convert PDF to CSV
- Upload your PDF. It's read on your device; nothing is sent to a server.
- Click Extract CSV. The selectable text on each page is pulled out and formatted as comma-separated rows.
- Copy or download. Grab the CSV and open it in any spreadsheet app.
When this helps
- Analysts getting figures out of a PDF report into a sheet for charting.
- Bookkeepers moving line items from a statement into accounting software.
- Anyone who needs editable data from a PDF instead of retyping it by hand.
What works best (and what doesn't)
This tool reads selectable text — the kind you can highlight in a PDF reader. It captures the words page by page, which is perfect for simple lists and exports. Very complex multi-column tables may need a little tidy-up in your spreadsheet afterwards, and scanned or photo-based PDFs have no text layer, so they return nothing here — run those through OCR first. If you specifically want a workbook with one row per record, try PDF to Excel.
Privacy
Your PDF stays in your browser. Text extraction runs locally — nothing is uploaded, stored, or analysed.

Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Text extraction happens entirely in your browser. Your file never leaves your device, which makes it safe for statements and other sensitive documents.
What does the CSV output look like?
The selectable text is written out as comma-separated values, with quoting where a cell contains commas. Open it in Excel or Google Sheets and it splits into columns automatically.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
No. A scan is just an image with no text layer, so there is nothing to extract. Use the Extract text from scanned PDF (OCR) tool first, then convert that text.
My table didn't split into neat columns. Why?
Complex layouts with merged cells or several columns can flatten when the text is read in reading order. Open the CSV in a spreadsheet and use Text to Columns, or try PDF to Excel for table-focused output.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit, but very large PDFs take longer and depend on your device memory. Files under about 50 MB convert comfortably.
